This album marks what will probably be Diskarte’s last album (though never say never). Over the past 12 years we’ve handed out countless versions of our music on burned CD’s, recorded in Jasen’s cousin’s studio in Fresno, at Expressions school of music during graveyard sessions, or by ourselves on garageband. We wish we could recall most of that, but hey that’s history and that was always our style, to serve the people with whatever music we had whatever stage it was in.
This album represents our last 3 years of music, from our unanticipated January 2009 reunion at Blake’s in Berkeley (thanks in part to some supernatural meddling from our departed bandmate BJ Alisago) to today. We’re proud of the production – recorded by Paul and Jasen, mixed with a lot of love by Paul and Jasen, and mastered by Juan’s brother Antonio. This project, like Diskarte as a whole, was a labor of love and we’re proud of what we’ve produced all DIY, all in-house, all in the family.
The album was recorded and produced by Paul “Pizzaslayer” Bolick Mausisa and Jason “The Brown Commander” Ildefonzo and mastered by Antonio “Deathalizer” Calaf.
We dedicate this album to the memory of BJ Alisago, Diskarte’s co-lead singer, kulintang player, dancer, tae-bo ninja and best friend. We will not forget you, Manong.
